Professor Sofie De Schepper (1976) is a staff member of the department of Dermatology of the University hospital in Gent since 2007. In 2007 she defended her PhD thesis entitled “Café-au-lait spots in Neurofibromatosis type 1: a step towards unravelling the etiopathogenic mechanisms”. In 2010 she received the title of professor from the University of Gent. Since 2007 she has focussed mainly on her subspecialties of pediatric dermatology and dermatopathology. Vascular tumors and malformations and genodermatoses hold her special interest.
